Seen this week Hampton Court Palace, anyone know it ? John Ashcroft ?

Answer: "They" didn't exactly 'go for the 3.3' [8|] - the 3.6 was only launched in late 1993, possibly as a run-off models (as Porsche tend to do with the turbo variants - see the 997 gen 2 turbo S). Pre 1993, the only option was the 3.3.... Then in 1994/5, the 993 tt appeared - somewhat different in character [ORIGINAL: davidcross Guess these are rocking horse do dar in 3.6 ltr. Question is why did everyone go for the 3.3 then???
Those look like the original Speedline split rims to me - the dirt is hiding the bolts I think.ORIGINAL: davidcross The one at jzm had split rims so different car I wud say. I looked longingly at it for weeks on their website and remember thinking 'big money for a high mileage car' then it had sold!!! Guess these are rocking horse do dar in 3.6 ltr. Question is why did everyone go for the 3.3 then???
It had 86,000 on the clock Jonny and no rear wiper. Other than that it didn't have any real distinguishing marks; other than it was the best Porsche ever made IMHOORIGINAL: jonny boy I dont have a record of this numberplate , but not all the cars that register on my site give one. They always look good in black but a labour of love to keep clean ..
Hi Dave, Any response would be littered with opinion and passion for a car I hold in high regard. I would suggest that these impartial articles would be a better source of comparison for/against the 3.3 / 3.6: [link=http://www.performance2and4.co.uk/964_TII_n.htm]http://www.performance2and4.co.uk/964_TII_n.htm[/link] [link=http://www.qv500.com/indexporsche3.php]http://www.qv500.com/indexporsche3.php[/link] [link=http://www.964uk.com/html/964-1m.htm]http://www.964uk.com/html/964-1m.htm[/link] [link=http://www.bigporsche.com/964turbo1specs.htm]http://www.bigporsche.com/964turbo1specs.htm[/link] [link=http://www.964turbo36.co.uk/index.html]http://www.964turbo36.co.uk/index.html[/link] Happy reading ! I should say, other sites are available....ORIGINAL: davidcross The one at jzm Also had 86,000 miles and no rear windscreen wiper for what it's worth. Was there a big performance difference between the 3.3 and the 3.6 which explains the big price differences or is it just the rarity?? My thinking is in comparrison the 3.3 wud b the better value car no?? Was there any other differences between the 2??
That's my friends old car then - it had 86k on it and I know he removed the rear wiper and had the Speedlines refurbished. He'd also had the interior retrimmed and had just put KWs on it before he sold it. He bought back in 2005 when I think it had 72k miles on it - JZM had looked after it for him. I won't say how much he paid for it, but suffice to say, he got his money back! He sold it becuase it spent most of its time in storage and it just wasn't getting used. Lovely car!ORIGINAL: Andrew M BonnerIt had 86,000 on the clock Jonny and no rear wiper.
