Black alloy wheels?

Hi all, I am trying to canvas opinion on the look of these on a silver car:

I need to get my wheels refurbished due to age / marks / kerb rash and I was considering this finish. Or should I just get the wheels refurbed back to standard?

Any comments welcomed

Thanks

IMO it's a Marmite thing - you either love it or hate it. I love Marmite, but hate all-black wheels.

Bit like this old thing: [:'(]

nice

Brilliant, was hoping that someone would have a picture of a silver one with the black turbos

I'm really rather liking that

I agree, go for it. Would be pretty unique too as I have never seen a 996 with black alloys, you see a few 997's.

Would have the added bonus of looking less dirty for longer too - wouldn't show the brake dust as much

Anyone know if you can buy black colour crested centre caps or would I have to get these sprayed too?

Can anyone lend me a set of wheels for a week whilst mine are away?

here's mine... Like it's been said, some love it, some don't, I do [:)]

I originally had GT3 sport designs which I got refurbed at Lepsons in Kent. They did an amazing job but looking back now I wish I had colour coded them. That way I'd have black GT3 wheels instead of new aftermarket wheels, but I still love them...

I 've seen some metallic mat black wheels with a gold fleck featured in them. Silver fleck would look cool too. If anyone can remember the JPS Nortons they featured the gold fleck in the black paint. Not many people know that........[&o] I think they would look brillant.

i have a set or wheels and tires you can borrow if you want, mind you, i am in edinburgh!
and by the way, gloss black does show the brake dust very quickley, i had gloss black wheels on a nippy nipper once, always cleaning them!

Hi there,

These are mine... I had them referbished by Rimtec. Only £65 a wheel... That was to remove scuffs, spray the centres black (powdercoat) and polish the outer rim. Rimtec are based in Kent. Piccie of my motor attached...

Cheers,
Steve
