Black and Decker or Bosch power drill

I am looking to purchase a new power drill, can anyone recommend a brand which will be reliable when exposed to damp conditions?

Anyone?
Bev perhaps?
Thanks
Jay

They are both fairly poor, but if pushed I would go for the Bosch. Hitachi and Makita are about as good as it gets but they are big tickets items. here endeth the lesson.

When I was going to get a power drill a couple of years back, I asked my builder friends for the same advice and he said, "get down to Wicks and get their own brand"... as for home use, however much I abuse it, it will do the job and take the abuse plus it will be half the price... Well, I took his advice and got one from Wicks and it is still going strong! Never tried it in damp condition though...

Jay - Just been down this road for work. Makita seem to have the best reliability at the moment. Dewalt stuff looks pretty and they support motor racing, but their gear is expensive to service. I bought Makita, but it ain't cheap. If you buy pro gear rather than DIY, it will be designed to be abused on building sites so will perform better in most conditions, damp included.

Hang on, hang on....just read your thread properly!

I think your looking for a specialist tool here. Last one I heard about was demo'd on an instructional DVD purchased in Amsterdam from a licensed retailer by a respected member of R24 (no names mentioned) on our recent WOTY to the Netherlands!

Ah! In that case I take back my Wicks and maybe Ann Summers own brand might be appropriate but I think it only comes in pink (I've heard...) [;)]

Jason you know daryl uses a variety of Drills in his trade, he would be a good person to ask ???????????[:)]

Well fellow R24's if any of you laughed as much as I did, thanks steve, it is worth the beating I'm about to get. I have just been given a message to call someone!

Thanks for a laugh guys!!

Can these be used in the home ok? And if so someone must know where I can purchase one?
I would like to present it to a good friend of mine who has been looking for one for ages? (well a few weeks anyway)

Thanks
