Black paint for wheel repair

Can anyone confirm that I'm fine to use a non-Porsche black gloss alloy wheel spray on my 718, or is the Porsche black that everso different that the repair will stand out - after all they dont often look at ways not be to able to charge for something! Thanks

when is black really black? that is the question. But seriously, it is - UV can degrade black fast and what comes out of a new paint tin vs. what the shade is now can be quite radically different (speaking as someone with four black cars). This is why all decent paint shops measure the current colour and match that rather than work off the official colour code. and if you get one wheel slightly different to another - it'll stand out like a sore thumb - really obvious on one side if both wheels not done the same. So I'd be careful about cheap paint fixes and maybe consider a professional finish to get it just right. But other than the visuals I doubt OPC will whinge about wheel paint - though you might if it's not perfect.
