hello all.
i've bought some black wheek nut covers for my car. should set off the wheels rather nicely. they don't fit over the locking wheel nuts though. on www.porscheshop.co.uk you can buy what appear to be black locking wheel nuts.

any thoughts on whether these will do the job. thanks, dev.

Dev, I have black covers on mine and they do look much better than the crappy standard bolts.

I contacted McGard, but they don't have a black finish available for the 997 - here is their reply;
This looks like our part number 28020 which has a M14 x 1.5 thread size, a radius seat, 31.8 mm shaft length and 17 mm key hex size.

In the end I bought 4 new wheel bolts from the porsche shop for £16 and fitted covers to all 5 bolts - depends on your usage/parking etc as to whether ditching the locking nuts is acceptable? They do have "black" locking nuts but to be frank, in the flesh the finish wasn't that impressive.

fair point. i do leave it at the train station, so i think i'd prefer to leave locking nuts on - and may have to go for the black variety, even if the finish isn;t as polished. thanks for your comments.

thanks Michael - but I am looking for black covers. My car is in basalt met black so the black covers really do set the alloys off nicely.

by the way, what's your RR Sport like. I am soon going to be in the market for a 4x4 and was looking at a V8 Disco but was put off by the interior. Kind of fallen for the interior of the Range Rover Voguse SE but to get any reasonable performance, I need to go for the Supercharged model. What do you think?

thanks michael. all food for thought. i'll keep you posted on what i decide to do. cheers, dev.
