Black Wheels

Just had my winter 5 spoke's matt blacked at Exel wheels. Now put these on while my summers are also painted. Expensive but did a deal as I did not need the option of any loan wheel. I think that they look great.

CofG speak very highly of him and I met Chris Weaver of Exel a Tipec meet at Hatton a few months back.

I just want to have a different look for the car from winter 18" wheels to the summer 19" - if that makes any sense. And I am particularly pleased with how aggressive it looks. [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

Will post more piccies when get other wheels back.

Hi Stu,

they look awesome against the red - I was thinking of doing the same to mine and would be interested to know the damage.

Regards,
Max

+ 1 for Chris at Excel Wheels - fantastic job on my Cup2s and you could not want for better personal service to meet up with me to swap wheels around

They cost me £400 for theses 18" wheels to be painted in black matt. I also had a new set of centre caps blacked as well, which pushed the cost up to £530.00 (cheapest set of original caps I could find). Very expensive I know, but when Chris at CofG said he would never deal with anyone else, this was the final stamp of approval. Exel use Lepsons of Gillingham and Swindon, and it is cheaper to go direct with them. But as he was doing all the donkey work for me I did not mind paying the fees.

To be fair I had negotiated him down from £500 per set, as he is doing the 2 sets and I did not require the loan wheels, so in the end it seemed a fair deal to me. Yes there are cheaper people around and I have used a few in the past, but then had to get them redone when the tyre monkeys got too eager when putting new boots on[][][][] or when you use some cleaners and the paint starts to come off[][][][]

Will wax these when get the 19's back and store them until required in the winter.
