Blackberry/Bluetooth Gen 2 issue - RESOLVED!

Thank you for your help on this issue - without it, would not have got it sorted so quickly as I am not sure the OPC knew what to do (having advised me to just buy a new phone). It was reciting Mex99's advice that informed them. This post will be irrelevant for most, but for those with BBerry invaluable if you have ordered or are ordering a new Gen2.

Took the car in today - in ten minutes the techhie guy changed the PCM into "HFP" mode. They said that this would allow me to make and receive calls on the BBerry via Bluetooth, but that it would not have the full options of the factory set mode - namely, address book would not show up, list of previous calls etc. However, as it turned out, everything works - the calls, address book, the works. The quality of the hands free is really good, better than I have ever had before. I tested it by calling my secretary whilst doing 90 miles per hour on a dual carriageway, and had an entirely normal call without having to shout!!

So a good example of why this Forum is excellent!

Off to record a MP3 CD now!.........

The Gen2 is officially awesome now! Launch Control is absolutely hilarious - finally plucked up the bravery to try it today.

Passed this advice onto my OPC Service manager and this is what he said

"The reason the UK has opted to do it this way round is because if you specify HFP from the factory that can not be changed at a later date"
