Hi guys, i'm having my header tank changed in a coupleof weeks and i just wondered if it necesary to bleed the entire system after replacement or not.

Cheers

Chris

I didn't with mine. Refilled it slowly then ran the car at idle with the cap off and kept topping it up until the level dropped no more then replaced cap but lifted bleed valve pin (black bit on top of tank) and let car warm up to running temperature. After that revved it every 20 seconds past 5000 rpm until the level dropped no more. Turned off engine and let car cool down then topped up with more coolant. Left the bleed valve upright for the week and the coolant level would drop slightly every day indicating air purging. This stopped after a week and about 100 miles.
