bleeding clutch

hi all,

I want to bleed the clutch system on my 964. Is there a procedure that I need to follow??. I am going to use a pressure bleeding system but do I just need to bleed the slave cylinder on the gearbox?. What fluid would be best to use?

Yes I think the slave is the only part of the clutch hydraulics that you can bleed easily. Since the clutch hydraulics are shared with the braking system it's simply a case of putting the pressure bleeder on the brake fluid reservoir and using the same brake fluid that's already in the system (normally Dot4). Make sure you clamp the vent tube on the brake fluid reservoir before you start bleeding.

Also give the bleed valve on the slave a good spray with WD40 before you try to open it and use a hexagonal spanner (7mm) on the valve as they are very soft and 'round' easily.
