Bleeding hell!!

Can somebody please help me I've just fitted new discs pads and ss hoses on my 89 3.2 but can't seem to get any pressure when i press the pedal!. I'm using racing blue fluid and have bled from all corners in the right order untill no more air has come out but still nothing! it has taken about 1 and a half litres of fluid now. Am i missing some thing?

When I did mine I put two pieces of hardwood in place of the pads (thinner than the pads themselves) - pumped the pedal so that it gripped the hardwood and then levered the pistons back replacing the wood with the pads. Result was a good pedal - not sure how it works (although I assume it's 'stiction' with the seals) but learnt it from Pelican and it solved my problem

Good Luck

Paul,

Does the pedal become firm (firmer at least) if you "pump it up" ie if you push the pedal more than once? If so my money is with Roy. If this is the case, it will sort itself out with time, but you can fix it just as Roy suggests.

I recently renewed caliper seals and brake hoses, but like you just could not get any brake pressure no matter how many times I tried! In the end I renewed the brake master cylinder and immediately got good brakes. As I have got a G50 box I bled the clutch as well. Hope this helps.

THEY WORK!! I have fixed my brakes at last have to admit though it was a bit of user error, it turns out that when I had the calipers off to clean and paint them I got them mixed up and accidently put them back onto the wrong sides of the car Doh! so after 2 days of trying to bleed them I have sorted it in under 2 hours!!. Thanx for all the input from everyone but look as if it's a roll over as there was no winner this time we will just have wait and see what I f@#k up next and see if anyone can guess it right!!. ;-)
