Bleeding the Clutch Slave Cylinder

Anyone have any advice on bleeding the clutch slave cylinder. Have been trying today and the pedal just seems to go to the floor and does not return automatically. Also bled through about 1/2 litre of fluid and still no resistance on the pedal.

Is a pressure bleed recommended as opposed to the old method of pedal up and down.

Thanks, all sounds reasonably easy. Will pick up a pressure bleeder tomorrow.

This p-car.com link has one vital part of the process missing. The reservoir has a breather/overflow pipe that I did not notice until I had pressure bled 1/2 litre of fluid over the floor. Doh !

If anyone else out there is going to pressure bleed their brakes or clutch then you need to clamp the hose from the reservoir to the overflow pipe.
