Back in the depths of winter, at one of the wednesday evenings, we discussed who might be going to the national event at Blenheim. We also discussed maybe getting together at the same hotel on the 11th, to enjoy ourselves in a Yorkshire way.
Hotels close to Blenheim have very limited availablity now so:
Is anyone going?
Is getting together on the saturday evening a goer?
If yes to the above, we need to motivate ourselves.

Paul (new boy) Hunt.

Hi Paul, welcome to the club! Yes, planning to go but hoping to camp rather than stay in a hotel. I would be interested in a 'Yorkshire convoy', and also there are plans to meet at Cornbury House and drive down from there.

We're planning to go but haven't worked out our arrangements yet. We can discuss with you next Wednesday at the meeting.

Any arrangements made re Blenheim? I think this may be my first event - is it worth booking the package - ie is the Gala Dinner any good? Also, what's the situation re kids - I have a six year old girl and don't really want to drag her along for the weekend if there is nothing for her to do!

Hi Andrew

Not sure we worked anything out for definite last Wednesday. Most people seem to want to go for one day (probably Sunday) only. Those of us that are thinking of staying overnight Saturday haven't yet decided on where (or indeed whether) to stay.

I have been to previous national events and enjoyed the gala dinners. I'm not sure whether it would be worth staying the Friday night as well as the Saturday - it depends what's going on on Saturday. As far as kids' activities are concerned, these are usually well catered for but have a look in PP or on the forum / web site for more details. This isn't an area I'm an expert in as I have no kids!

Details in general sketchy re this event - I also have to consider (if she goes) what to do with her if I do attend the dinner. Just thought that if I am going to attend my first club function I may as well jump in with both feet!

Why not come along to the R7 Tulip Rally next Sunday for your first event - (see threads on R7 forum ) .

Considered this too but car currently out of commission (leak on master cylinder - clutch) - I am expecting new cylinder Tuesday but don't know if I will get it fitted in time! It's a pity because I know the location already as I looked at a car there last year. It would obviously be touch and go if I could make it and I don't want to say I'm coming then not turn up.

Fully understand - in the circs. mail me direct if you can come by Saturday next 1200 - would be good to see you there as 944s were underepresented last year.

Andrew
