Blenheim Palace help needed

I know not everyone reads all the forums, so I've copied this from John Sims. Please offer to help if you're attending, and particularly if you can help on the build-up days. [:)]

Big events don't happen by themselves and many hands make light work.

Being involved is great fun and being part of the team has its advantages.

We need:-

Thursday - Assistance to help mark out the site.

Friday - Assistance to help erect tents, fencing, signs etc.
Assistance to marshal traders

Saturday - Parking Marshals
Ticket Marshals
Marshall Team Leaders

Sunday - Parking Marshalls
Ticket Marshalls
Marshall Team Leaders
Assistance to strip down and pack

The more we have the more fun it is so, if you are thinking of being a Marshal, why not encourage your friends to join in as well and the be a Team Leader.

All Marshals will get free car entry on a one for one basis (½ day Marshalling entry for the remainder of the day - 1 day marshalling - one day free) and there is even the possibility of a "goody bag" as a further thank you.

Morning Marshal Team Leaders will need to be on site for a 7:00am briefing with all morning Marshals available for the first arrival of members at 8:00am. Afternoon Team Leaders will be briefed at 11:00 with all afternoon Marshals needed at 12:00.

If you can help please phone Narinder at Club Office with your details.

Thank you, in advance, for your help. I look forward to sharing a beer with you as we consider the success of the event we all made happen together.

Top man Paul.

The 944 Register has an enviable reputation for having a lot of very helpful members with 944's being notable in being first in and last out. Let's keep that reputation up boys & girls.

This is perhaps unsurprising in some respects as peoples cars do reflect their character.

944 - Reliable, practical, understated, fast without being flash, modest but delivers, FUN!

Lets not get diverted into debating if you are flash or not until you have phoned Narinder to volunteer [;)]

Hope you have plenty of volunteers now - Afraid I will be away on an OU residential course... otherwise I would be happy to help... if nothing else... maybe it has bumped the thread!

Oh John, you are so poetic and profound [:D][:D][:D]
As two of these wonderful people we will be there to help on the Friday.

Hi all,

We still need a few willing bodies for Blenheim, see here:

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=463464&mpage=1&key=񱉨

Looking forward to seeing many of you in the 944 Register area, make sure you come and say hello!

Absolutely!

What could be a better deal than getting into our National event for free?

(OK getting in for free without lending a hand for a few hours but that aside)

This is an event for members. It is a new venue with a new team. Inevitably there will be some excitement somewhere down the line. Why not come and help so that you can be in the thick of it. Then, when people put up all sorts of stories of how they saw things unfolding you will know the truth because you will have been there.

Obviously I am saying this to appeal to the thrill seekers. Nothing is going to go wrong but we are still going to have a good laugh any way.

Hi John, I shall be there hopefully early Friday Afternoon traffic etc permitting with Doris we are down to help the 3.2 Register and Display both Saturday and Sunday morning early at the gate ...... but will call in above permitting Friday and make contact and give any extra assistance.....[:)]

Top Man Des.

Despite my poetic soliloquy, above, we aren't wall to wall with 944 owners at the moment. Come on chaps being part of The Team is great fun.

"Big Man" Barry always looks after his troops and with both Barry and myself hailing from the building industry a bit of leg pulling is inevitable. [8|][:D]

John

Don't know if you've got a full compliment yet - but I can make Saturday if that's of any use. I'll have my 11 year old son with me. I haven't booked yet - let me know what you'd like me to do.

Can't give a definite commitment to help out this time I am afraid. Though if the chance presents itself on the Saturday or Sunday will gladly lend a hand.

Whilst I'm not a member, if you stuggle to find bodies to help you, I can give my assistance on the Friday.

Thanks chaps.

We are covered for Friday but are short for the weekend. If you can e-mail your details to Narinder at Club Office this will ensure you get on the list as a firm commitment and will get your free entry.

Rip down Sunday evening is another area where help would be appreciated.

Bump!

You're not hiding this post by posting on lots of other topics and pushing it down the heap. []

Obviously I could lock it to the top but this way it comes up on your new posts list as well.

Back from Gib now and should be able to help out on the sunday, should be able to stay late - ish and help with packing,
Tony

Alas, away all weekend. Otherwise I would have quite enjoyed being there.

All the best with finding chaps for the weekend.

Oli.

Wont be making this one lads ... I would dearly love to go ...! We are short staffed at the minute and there is no chance of me getting time off. Was thinking of a sickie but I wouldnt be able to keep it quiet ...! I have to content myself with a classic car run in Ennis Co.Clare this Sunday....!

I'll be thinking of yous all as I tip along at 40mph among the Rileys, Austins, Hillmans and old Jags...!

Enjoy yourselves and take plenty of pictures.......!

A big thank you to all of you 944 owners who lent a hand. Your multiple assistance was invaluable.

Apologies to those I didn't contact who offered. I left home Wednesday evening and this is the first chance I have had to see the forum since.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the 944 registry organisers for a great weekend on Saturday, I know there have been a few negative posts over in the members area but we really enjoyed it. I know Paul was working hard all weekend and the others too, thanks for making it happen guys.

Look forward to going again next year.

Edd
