Blenheim Palace

Just wondered if there is anything planned for a Regional area where members from the region will be meeting up and parking their cars.

I know there is Register parking - but not much has been said about the Regions.

I will be there for the two days and also at the Gala Dinner. Anyone else going??

Hi Peter, Chris clark's typing finger is not in use its s--- -- --- ----, so I will reply,

Register will have a full parking lay out.

Regions should have been told that they have an area for a general get together with or without Gazebo's its up to them, but all cars will be in register parking ,

I have no idea who's going from reg 18, unfortunately I was away on a planning meeting and a board meeting when the region had its last two meetings.

Only know what has been in Porsche Post.

I believe a very small number of R18 members may be going to Blenheim

Another event has however been organised by R18 member on the 12th July in Blackpool, to raise funds for local charities, which is being well supported by R18 members instead.

12th July          "Wheel Meet Again", Charity Classic Car Show.

At The Garden Place, Cropper Road, Blackpool, FY4 5LB, just off the end of the M65,  near Derek Woodman BMW garage,

Turn up between 10.30 and 16.00 hours.

There will be a number of members of car clubs attending including Ferrari, TIPEC, Prancing Horse Register, Kirkby Lonsdale Motor Club and Lancashire Porscha Owners Group, and Austin Healey

I'll be at Blenheim on the Saturday Peter. See you at the Register parking! Is there a Frogeye register?

I'll be at the event in Blackpool. I promised the organiser I'd attend when he first muted the idea months ago. May not be as many Porsches there as Blenheim but should be an interesting range of exotica, plus rides for charity. (And it is only half an hour away from me so no worries about traffic as I'll be nipping down the lanes to get home!)

Cheers,

We are going to that Fred , Susan is taking her Concours Cab seeing as it is no good for anything else now. I will fetch the old faithful banger Supersport, can you drop by us on the way we can have a small convoy. We don't know the way or even where it is, we don't do garden centres.!!![:D]

Hello Mac,

Will be happy to act as convoy leader if you need one. If you know where B&Q is in Marton then you are in the right area. From the motorway roundabout head down to the next roundabout, three quarters of the way round it. Go passed Blackpool Honda on your left, down to the next large roundabout. Three quarters around that one (fourth exit) and you should see the garden centre. I'll probably go down fairly early to give Tony a hand (old habits die hard!). Give me a ring or pop round and we'll make some arrangements. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler by then.

Note to all - this isn't a club event so open to all comers, if it is a success regarding the charity side of things then I would imagine it will become an annual event - be there or be like an Allegro steering wheel.

Cheers,

I will be there from the Friday so we should bump into each other.

Maybe there will be a good number from the Region going - but sadly there will be no focal point for them to gather this time.

The Frogeye was my first 'sports' car when I was 18 (not the one in the avatar) and I wish I still had it. I saw a beautiful one last Sunday on the Garstang bypass with the roof off and it was pouring down! I think he may have left the roof poles and hood at home as he was trying to bat on and not get filled up with water. Happy days - not!

Hi Rob

I have just sent you a pm with my mobile number so you can give me a bell when you get there.

It's a real shame that not more members form the region are not going, I am sure the newer members who have yet to go to one of these events don't know what they will be missing. Looks like it will be one of the best national events at what looks to be a spectacular venue.

Remember the days when we used to meet at the OPC on the run down to the national events? Great fun and happy days.

We have been to the last nine National events, and we didn't meet at an OPC for any of them. Mind you that's possibly because we were already on site putting up tents and banners and marking out the ground for others to park on.
Please stop implying that we are not pulling our weight this year. You know why we are not going.

Sue

Hi Peter, I'm there Thursday, Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday. My new Cab is built but may not arrive until next week [] See you on Friday?

Hi Sue

I never implied that for one minute and it never occurred to me to think that at all.

Why you should think that I have no idea, so please don't imply that I am having a go at you.

As for why you are not going - I have no idea either. You have not mentioned it to me and I can only assume the reason why.

The reason I posted in the first place was to highlight that this is one event in the year that new and existing mebers should try to get to. Nothining more than that.

Hi Derek

Would be nice to catch up again on Friday.
We are staying at the Holiday Inn at Peartree roundabout.
I don't mind if you want to by me a beer - no matter what car your in!

As if !!! Moi??? Be great to meet up at last John.

Misunderstanding here Peter. Susan didn't mean just us personally she was talking about the Region , well those who usually attend and put in the graft. The explanation of the reason is something that won't be allowed here on the forum , in fact if we got into it you would probably be asked to censor it , sorry Freudan slip, moderate it. However if you feel the need to know and genuinely don't know, give us a call anytime and one of us will explain. Sorry that we assumed that you knew but, when feelings are running high, feelings are also likely to get hurt . Have a nice day.

Lancashire Porscha owners group???? A new one on me David, any details on who and what this group is, tried googling them but just got some swingers club ( I bet you all go and look now!)

Well there's not much going on around here so I will be down at Blenheim palace over the weekend, managed to finally book a hotel near Woodstock. My first national event for some years so really looking forward to it.

See all those attending down there, mine is the poor blue Boxster with the big ding in the back bumper that will now have to be parked right at the back of the field[&o]
