Is anyone else from R3 going to the national event at Blenheim ? We are going for the 2 days (Sat and Sun 11/12 July) and staying with friends but could meet up somewhere if anyone else is going.
I've never been to the national event before, and booked through the office for 2 days thinking we would have a good choice of programmes - however when I received the detailed programme it appears that it is the same thing happening on both days - is a 2 day ticket just an insurance against the weather or am I missing something ?

Hi

2 days is the number that Members have always wanted for their special event of the year.

It is also better for the Trade as they get a better exposure to people who attend on one day or the other or both.

The Palace will I am sure take up a lot of you time as will meeting numerous other Members, apart from the published programe of event there will be a huge number of cars to see, trade stands to visit, and you will also get a chance to see the things you missed the first time around[:)]

I hope you all have a great time,

See you there, and hope to have a chat.

Have fun

Hi Chris - Matthew and I are going down for both days and, like you, wondered about the activities. (see thread on the general Discussion Area). I've spoken to John Sims and Barry Smith (both heavily involved in the organisation) and they tell me that there are many other things going on which were not listed on the Arena schedule. Porsche Cars will be there with a stand; there will be a 356 strip down as well as around 60 stands as well as other activities... and of course, Belnheim palace itself is worth seeing!

Hopefully it should be a really good weekend.

Im going with Angela for both days and joining the 964 register display.
Not sure when we are travelling yet.

Gillian and I are going down Friday till Monday.
We have always seen these events as more of a social thing. By the time we've chatted to people we know, people we don't know and people we only see at these events we wonder where the day has gone.
The house and gardens are also worth spending some time on.
Of course there is also the " I really need that part", " Oh no you don't" conversation which always seems to take a while.[:D]

Would anyone fancy a meal/get-together at some local pub on the Saturday night?

We are staying at the Merrymouth Inn , Fifield , about 10 miles from Blenheim and recommended in PP for good food etc.
Its the region 31 meeting place. Might be good for a meeting point ? We are driving down on friday afternoon.
My mobile no is 07710243716 if anyone wants to call us.

We are going down tomorrow and staying with friends just outside Oxford -- we will be there both days so if anyone wants company in the beer tent my mobile is 07961007248

A few of us are meeting up at the Merrymouth Inn, Fifield on Saturday night as per jonny boys post.
Looks like a nice place with good food.
If any north-east people are going down and would like to join us just come along.
And anyone else of course.
