Now read very carefully Mr Hitchcott
You will continue to spend your money on your 924...
You keep working to try to get all the water out of the system...
You will send me a new register form for your car (last one was 5th March 2003!)
You will write your Register a nice report on some aspect of life with your car
And 3-2-1 - and you're back in the room []
Well, I got it in Jan '93 as a temporary thing so it should be the same car !
I have documented life with the car in the glovebox Ego Journal, which is full of comments from attractive girls passing by, from "Will you marry me" to the occasional personal female item dropped through the sunroof which the self assured male is happy to leave open when parked.
In fact, I now realise why I've kept it so long - my theory that it was the driver not the car that was the babe magnet wasn't borne out when tested in the occasional Lamborghini and Ferrari. I think it's the custom colour and custom decals that set off the shape of the car, which to me is the glorious plagiarised synthesis of earlier Italian sports car design.
The engine noise and vibration is certainly more satisfying than you get in modern poofter sports cars that try and emulate the smooth feel of a Rolls Royce.
The lack of electronics or central locking and what have you is also very refreshing, alongside the sunroof that will always work as it's only held in place by a couple of cheap plastic catches - who said the 924 wasn't traditional Porsche !
