Blood, sweat and toil!

Recently I have become fed up with the state of the body work on my Lux, it needs a new front wing, it has a hole just in front of the off side rear wheel arch and the panel beatwean the rear lights is not looking healthy either!

Decided to start with the front wing, picked up a bit of a bargain off of flea-bay.

The original wing and its rusty bits.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/SteveH944/IMAG0038.jpg

Most of the screws holdin the wing on were no problem but the nuts holding it to the front skirt were a pain but they would not beat me!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/SteveH944/IMAG0048.jpg

Finally after dodging showers, scuffing knuckles etc the new wing is on.

Really need to clean up the rest of the car to work out how far off/close the colour match is! I guess I will have to give it a wash tomorrow then.

Good work Steve, I do hope you had some axle stands under it though when you were working on it ? Also not a good idea to jack the car from the forward jacking point (use the centre point).

Did you have any trouble lining the new wing up with the door etc ?

Regards

Dave K.

There is an axle stand tucked under there, I'm not crazy! I haven't completely finished yet but its seems to line up pretty well, when the sun decides to come out I will put the skirt/apron back on and see if it needs further lining up.
BTW I didn't know that the front jacking point is less than ideal, seems solid enough?

It may appear solid enough at first but cars that have been lifted there too often show deformation of the floor right at this point.

You are welcome.
The actual front lift points are on the front side members and are marked as rombus - it is well detailed in the owner's manual.

Nice job. [8D]

Looks good with the painted alloys too (which doesn't make any sense in this thread, but I've just left the evo forum and can't be bothered popping back over to comment [8|] )
