Yep you guessed it, battery flat! Got key stuck in ignition, managed to retrieve that though. Phew.

Need to jump start it, battery in front. Can't open bonnet.

Come on Porsche do they not think this through?

On my 911 I have a cable behind headlight, do I have one in a Boxster? Any idea where it is?

HELP PLEASE

Hi

If you can open the driver door then in footwell is a panel pull the positive terminal out and attach your jump lead ground the earth to the door strap and this should be enough to start or at least open the hood.

If not the pull release is behind the passenger front wheel inner lining which you will need to remove? Porsche think of everything but don't tell the Thieves!!!!

Regards

Check out the owners handbook. There is a connection point in the fuse panel you can use to unlock the front compartment.

Failing that, there is an emergency cable. You have to remove the front part of the front wheel arch liner on the passenger side (iirc) to access the cable.

Thanks for the replies and advice.

Managed to locate the connection point in fuse panel and got enough electric into the system to pop the hood and jump from there!

One thing I learned from experience is that the connection panel trick only works if the battery is present or not completely shot - if you remove the battery to charge off car don't shut the bonnet or you will be dismantling the wheel arch!!!
