Blower bypass pipe/ cup 1 mags

I noticed at Ragley that a number of 964 RSs had the rear blower removed & a bypass pipe fitted instead. Does anyone know where these can be bought? I prefer the original looking plastic one. I have tried all over the internet & asked Ninemeister but no luck so far.

Also no harm asking, anyone got a set of magnesium cup 1s they are willing to sell?

Hi pete

I got my bypass pipe from Gert at Carnewall in Belgium.

Think it is a 993 bypass pipe but it fits perfectly in the RS.

Cheers

Ollie, meant to ask at Spa but got too excited with other stuff

What's the benefit of the bypass pipe? it is weight reduction or something else?

Thanks

Rob

Jumping in before Ollie gets a chance to reply. My CCU has one of the common faults of the rear blower sticking on. I have fudged it electrically but see no point in lugging around a heavy unused blower motor so would like to remove it. Also access is better once it has gone.

Hi Rob

You know me, I'm a garage tart [;)]

In all reality I thought that with only using the car in the summer I didn't really need that blower assembly in the engine bay. The car has another blower anyway so can still get heat into the cabin if I need too (shame I cannot get it out of the cabin when in traffic).

It also looks ace and really cleans up the engine and shows off my nice, clean engine bay...
