Blowout on M1

Just coming back from the Porsche Dealer in Nottingham and all of a sudden the car began to skake violently. Stopped on hard shoulder and the tyre was gone.

Replaced with space saver and went to Kwik Fit. They are quoting me £180 for the tyre on a Conti ZR N2. Is that a good price? Is it worth changing both. The other still has some life left in it....

I had to put two new tyres on my wife's 996 last month. AFN Chiswick, my main dealer, charged me £180 per tyre for the same tyre you mention. Given that this dealer is in London and the most expensive place to buy anything on the planet, I would say that £180 in Nottingham is a little expensive. Unless of course Continental has a national fixed price.

Not sure I would trust Kwik-Fit with the wheels. I would pay a little more if there is a place who can put on tyres without damaging the wheels.

Oh I agree. But the tyre was delivered same day (friday ) and I needed the car on the road next day. Cannot fault the efficiency.
