Further to my previous Blue Smoke !!! Postings

Oil and Filters Changed today (by me -- no dramas took loads of pics) as recommended by John Maddox - now no blue smoke !!! just lots of white smoke !!!! this does not abate with time and plumes of white smoke on depression ofaccelertor fuel in both exhaust tips but mainly prominent in nearside tip occasional pop (suspect fuel ignition in exhaust) see pic

Any further advice much appreciated !!

Glad the blue smoke gone. White smoke is usually condensate in the engine or exhaust turning into vapour but you would expect this to reduce as the engine warms through to normal temperature. If it was mine and assuming you have normal oil pressure and no unusual noises from the engine I would let it tick over to normal temperature and then take it for a gentle run.

Mine can plume vapour for a while when cold - especially when it hasn't been used for a while. I have to say this is at your own risk but if it was mine this is what I would do.

Cheers John - nervous about letting run for too long concerned about fuel in exhausts tips - ran for approx 5 mins (felt like half an hour at the time!!) there was no abatement white smoke and increased on accelerationand did hear the odd pop of fuel detonating in the exhaust - ignition problem?

Any suggestions?

The good news - John you a star - ran for 15 mins smoke cleared <<<< was nervous >>>> car did pop a little but settled and no fuel in tips no smoke either white or blue !!!! -

The bad news - see fuel leak post!!!!

Good - but you are very unlucky to have to move on to cure another problem immediately. You may need professional help on the fuel leak problem as I believe the fuel supply is quite pressurised and you need to be sure its sorted for obvious high fire risk. See if you can tighten the unions but mind how much muscle you use as they can strip threads. I think the alloy washers can corrode and then leak.
