Blue smoke

Hi All,

I have noticed blue smoke from my 1988 3.2 s when it has not been used for a few days (4 or more), if I use it everyday, there is no blue smoke.

The car drives good, oil pressure good and not noticable problems, i know blue smoke is usually a valve or seal problem, but the engine had a rebuild only 50k ago and its has a good service history.

Do I leave it, or is it best to have it checked out?

I live in staffordshire and I am having trouble finding a local (ish) independant porsche garage.

Thanks

James

Depends on how much it is - does it clear after a very short period of time (5 secs or so)?

My SC does it if I leave it in the garage for a week or more, has done for years.

Oil doesn't drain down the bores to the crank case as the cylinders are horizontal and
with just a bit of ring wear the oil creeps past them after a varied period of time and
blue smoke results. Not the only cause but a common one.
