Folks, looking for some empathy here!

Has anyone replace the paper air filter with a BMC 'rubberised' one? It took me an hour last night of applying about 10,000 pounds per square inch with my hands to try and close the cover again!! I know it is 'seated' correctly in the filter housing but why so tight? I am guessing the rubber is not as compressible as the paper and it is a pretty tight fit even with a normal filter...

Anyway, seems very tight and under a lot of load, if it comes undone it may blow a hole in the back of my car!!

Anyone else had fun with these things?

I am glad it wasn't only me!!

Actually Maurice, I can feel a very slight difference.....or maybe it is wishful thinking?? It certainly seems a tad more responsive....tad being the unit of measurement :)

It was the K&N that had issues. First generations frequently got sucked in....
No such problems with the BMC, the brand used by Porsche Motorsport.
