Body chop in Essex/London/Herts/Kent area

I am thinking of giving my S2 cab a respray (and some minor bubbles fix) probably with the GP White over the current Alpine White. Does anyone know a reliable body shop in Essex (or London/Herts/Kent) area which does a good respray job.

Is a budget £1500 a bit too low?

IIRC there were some good recommendations for a chap who restores Porkers in Kimpton, Herts -[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]Porschons Classic Ltd, Unit 9, Claggy Road, Kimpton, Herts, SG4 8PZ Tel: 01438 833 911[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

I can happily recommend Dave Mak at Daytona Coachworks in Stevenage. Dave has done plenty of work for guys on the other Porsche forums and a great job for me on the sills of my 944 - it was his previous experience with 944's that lead me to him and I wasn't disappointed.

Based on all the investigation I did I'd say £1,500 for a colour change respray is rather low, double it and you'll get a good job. If you had a same colour respray then I should think £2k might be possible for a good windows out job.

I think you should also expect to replace the outer sills if that's where the rust is, well worth doing if the car is a keeper in my opinion.

If you do all the work stripping down then you might be able to save quite a bit of labour but you'd want to add on the price of transporting the car to the bodyshop. Letting them fit it in between other jobs will also help reduce the cost if you're in no rush.

The place I'm using in Kimpton is actually a neighbour to the one listed above (at Unit 12 Claggy Rd), the phone number I listed previously doesn't always work so please PM me to get Alan's mobile if you're interested in having a chat with him, I'm very impressed with his work and he's reasonably priced too.
