Howdy guys,

got a few patches on the car need repairing. just wondering if anyone has some companies they would recommend?

Im based in Chester so North Wales or North West region would be best?

Also if anyone got some work done at the place they recommmend, could you post up prices? just to give me any idea of what price range i would be looking at.

Cheers

I had my sills repaired at place called Farringtons, their work is outstanding, but a bit pricey! I had my outer and inner sills done plus some minor body work for £2.5k, which is more than most. I can still recommend them though as Trevor's work is his life, he does resoration work all day then goes home and restores cars for his own use! The whole team were very freindly the whole time i was there too. Farringtons is a few miles off the M at J18. Here is the website, click the location on the bottom right for details.

Thats the only place ive heard of in my area, im biased though as i could cycle to Farringtons to pick my car up!

P.s Any typos are the fault of large quantities of alcohol consumed on this bank holiday night!

cheers for that.

i know appletonn got some work done on his and its very similar on what i need doing. tried emailing and pm'ing but both times it wouldnt let me.

Hi, it might be a bit far for you but I used Surface and Design in Blackpool when I needed similar work doing to my car: http://www.surfaceanddesign.com/index.html

Their work is absolutely superb and they're very good guys to work with. Dave who does the metalwork really is a craftsman, he showed me some of the panels he made from the scratch for various classic cars and the finish was absolutely top notch. Andy (who you'll probably speak to if you ring up) designs there and always has some fantastic projects on the go, he was designing a new front end for the Ultima GTR last time I spoke to him.

I had sills, lower front wings, windscreen surround, repair to front badge panel, repair to front PU, front end respray, and a few minor niggles sorted all done for a very reasonable price.

I say 'very reasonable' as I can't remember the total exactly now and don't have access to my paperwork where I am. I think it was circa £1400. That was my cheapest quote at the time (I only got quotes from recommended reputable specialists) but rather than the price it was the sheer quality of the work they demonstrated to me that swung my decision.

I've had work done by them since on other cars and again the result has been fantastic. They were recommended to me by a number of people on Pistonheads and I'm very pleased I listened.
