Can anyone recommend someone in the North West who I could get to tackle my sills and lower wings, in much the same way that Paul did his own.

I don't think there are any structural issues ([&:]), but just want to preempt any minor cosmetic deteriroation in that area from stone chipping etc.

Depending on the estimates, I may get it done before Le Mans - now that my better half has her new decoration/carpets/flooring etc, I can almost justify it...[]

Just to add to what I sent you through PH, I've settled on letting Surface & Design in Blackpool do my car after seeing the quality of their work on various other projects and having received plenty of recommendations. They quoted a reasonable price too.

Mine is going in at the end of April so if you still haven't settled on a bodyshop by then you're more than welcome to inspect the work they do on mine.

It sounds like it'll be a very similar job too; although they're also repairing my front bumper (two broken struts), doing a front end respray, removing a few imperfections that appear to have been caused by stone chips, and sorting the corrosion that is beginning to show on my windscreen surround.

I should have my MX-5 going in before the 944 to sort some vandal damage so the results of that job should show if the reality lives up to my expectations.

The paintshop at Ninemeister has a very good reputation and will be the absolute top selection in my book. Their price will reflect this of course but as long as you catch it before deep rot sets in it will not be too bad. Panel cutting and replacement is where it starts to get really expensive [&:]

Wigeon, might take you up on that. How much are they estimating for that work?

Paul, I did think about 9M, but also about the £££ [8|]

Will probably go and get them to price it up anyway.

For panel cutting, welding, painting etc all in including VAT and materials it was circa £880 (bear in mind that includes my extra bits and bobs too).

Dave Whiticker is also very good in Brock, he did my seats etc. Both come
recomended and both know our cars.
