bodywork gaps

They look normal to me. Always looks larger on Silver cars as you notice the black more. Not noticable on dark cars to the same extent.

Looking at it you should see the rubber strip with its rounded top plus say a 1 mm gap top and bottom of it.

Yup - just the same as mine (silver) and perfectly normal. If this bothers you, don't even go near a 3.2 or a 964...
