Hello, I got my 86 911 back after quite abit of work and paint, but the left hand side at the hinge sits proud, is there any adjustment you can make, or does it look like the hinge is maybe bent?

Hi, this doesnt look right indeed.

There are three bolts that hold the hinge to the body, if you loose them it allows the hinge to be adjusted. Be careful to hold on to the hood as it will slide and the corner could hit the bodywork.
Loosen a couple of bolts completely and one slightly (only to allow movement) and adjust and tighten. Close the hood and check alignment.
On mine I also have washers between bonnet and hinge (washer goes to the bolt nearer the windscreen, there is no washer on the bolt towards the front of the car.
video here if it helps:

Thanks I will have a look, the video link did not go anywhere for me unfortunately, so does the hinge only move back and forwards, not up and down?

strange, when I click on the VIDEO on my first post it works fine (just click play)

the part of hinge with 3 bolts allows you to go up-down/forward back etc etc

IMHO, above advice is spot-on, and that is how I adjusted my bonnet line.
The paint shop really should have adjusted all this for you.

Also, the gas strut that supports the bonnet on each side can give such a 'lift' to a corner.
Easy to remove to see if that makes things better. One gas strut will not support the weight of the bonnet!

Was the bonnet like that before paint?
