Bonnet Badge Theft

Evening all,

Hope you are all having an enjoyable bank holiday weekend.
I have had the misfortune of some pikey / scally / scumbag (delete as appropriate / as you see fit) knife carrying youth steal my bonnet badge last night.
They did a pretty good job of removing it with a screwdriver / aforementioned knife but also managed to dent the bonnet in the process. Grrrr!
I'm sure it will look lovely on there council flat / youth offenders cell wall amongst the Ford and VW badges, one can only hope it leads to bigger and better things for them such as becoming a Big Brother hopeful or becoming a lottery millionaire...
Anyway, rant over... ;)
Just wondering if anyone else has ever had to replace there badge through such mindless activity and if so what the cost of replacing the badge etc.

Thanks,
JB

Makes you sick really.. .but oddly enough it was the Simpsons episode on TV today where they went stealing bonnet badges [&:]

hah! coincidence..[&:]

the badge you can just replace but the bonnet dent is the real pain...

Nice edit Gary.
Thought I might have gone a bit far with the rant!
Simpsons - A very strange coincidence as you say. I'll look out for that episode. Where there is a blame there is a claim as they say ha ha.

Had that happen to me a year or two ago. Thankfully they did a lovely job and the only scratch was under the badge so when it was replaced you couldn't see a mark. I got mine from an OPC, v. expensive, can't remember exactly, about £90 I think. However, it just clips back on so no expensive labour costs. You can get them from ebay etc too, but you need to make sure that you get the right one so that it fits correctly and you get a seal with it.

Re: dent and paint, there are some great repair co's out there now e.g. Chipsaway, so shouldn't cost too much. I can heartily recommend Steve on Acre Lane in Reading.

You would love to catch one of the "toerags" doing it though, wouldn't you.........
