Bonnet catch problem ???

Every time i unlock the doors to my 996 Turbo cab with the electric button on the key fob, it releases the bonnet catch aswell ??

So when i go and lock it down again, then drive up the road, it releases again.

Driving me mad at the mo' but can't be bothered (yet) with the 15 mile drive to my OPC.

I think it may well just be the key itself, but not sure.

Any ideas ?

Tried the spare key? If the same happens, the problem is likely with the car, not the key.

There should be a separate button on the fob which unlocks the doors and the bonnet together.

It could be that the two buttons and/or circuitry in the fob are malfunctioning and transmitting arbitrarily - which might explain why the bonnet is releasing while you are driving.

As blueSL says, trying the spare key should eliminate this and point to a fault in the car.

You should get it sorted quickly though, even though it's catched, you don't want your bonnet opening at 180mph[&:]

Just tried my spare keys and it does exactly the same thing.

Must be something on the car then.

Looks like a hike to my OPC now.

Ah well, a good excuse to have a look around the showroom i suppose !!!

Are you refering to the one that Carrera 4 boy is organising ?, if so, haven't heard anything yet, and March is looking very Busy for me at the mo'

I'm desperate to do one or two trips some time this year, so may look at seeing if anyone else is up for a trip June/July time

The problem with March is that the weather can be very hit and miss

Hi Guys,

Yes it's really busy for me too at the moment. Just never seem to have much time to even log in to the forum much. June looks better too. Speak soon.
