bonnet gas strut change

Silly question but is there any Knac/tips to changing the bonnet (ie lugagae hood) gas struts. I have bought the parts from the Porsche Shop.

Thanks

Big tip ..only do one strut at a time and you might need someone or something to hold the hood up ....don't loose the clips ;-)

The diy web site is as stated great, but this may have been true for a 993. On the 964 LH (looking from the front) gas strut there is no clip on the lower end, this is by design, I am thinking that the plastic protection sleeve is the method for retention?
I now have no gas struts as the Porsche Shop parts do not have sockets and clips on the lower ends?? Has anyone else used these gas springs, do they just sit over the ball joint and the upper end prevents sideways movement??
