Interesting one here. My bonnet would not open.
NOT a Bonnet release problem as I could here the solenoid working
Got behind the Outside(Right) Wheel arch and tried pulling the wire release - nothing
The catch had obviously locked
So I removed the screws that I could remove the front PU
1 UP behind the inner front wheel arch (Turn the wheel unclip 3 Pullout Clips and gently unclip the arch cover from behind the arch)
1 Behind the Front repeater indicator)
1 at the bottom of the arch underneath
Then 5 screws holding under the PU underneath
Now the nasty bit. Using two people pull the sides of the PU from behind the wheel arch and TUG the centre underneath the bonnet
THIS WILL PULL OUT BUT BREAK THE TWO HOLES UNDER THE BONNET - It is an easy repair job - Hopefully the Existing screws will tighten it down
REmove the 5 10mm nuts to remove the front section covering the upper part just below the bonnet
There are two 10mm nuts holding the BONNET catch remove thee and the bonnet will release
It may just need a load of WD 40 to clean it all and a bit of grease but there are just a few wires and two bolts to remove the whole lock
Mine was a bit rusty
