Bonnet pops up

Hi all

Elaine's 2.7 has developed a strange problem

When you unlock the car with the remote key fob the bonnet pops up and when you drive the car and come to a complete stop the bonnet pops up again.

This happens with both keys with remotes and I have replaced the battery's in them.

Any ideas

New one on me, however, one simple remedy to try is a disconnect of the battery, then reconnect, this often resets any little gremlins in the electronics.

As with any computer, the car is full of logic circuits and these can and do get confused, the remedy is to deprive of power as this effectivly will "reset" everything.
Of course, you will have the bother of having to reset all the radio stations, set the windows for one touch etc and on reconnecting power and turning on ignition leave it like that for one minute whilst the throttle adaption takes place.
Hope this sorts it out, as i say, in 12 years of Porsche ownership i have never heard of this problem before

This sounds like it could be a short on the switch panel.
I had a similar thing and had to have a replacement fitted at Porsche. £50 +vat

Thanks for your help, the problem has been sorted.

Have not had much time lately due to work and getting the race Boxster ready.

Saturday I had to get Elaine's Boxster out of the garage so I disconnected the battery to see if it would re set but as soon as the power was back on the bonnet motor operated, the next thing was to look at the switch.
I started to pull off the cover and happened to notice the rocker switch was jammed under the cover so I flicked it out and it all works fine.

With the bonnet opening all the time the switch was never used so the obvious part was missed.

Thanks again for your advice as they both led me to the problem.
