Bonnet release handle

Hi, I broke the plastic bonnet release handle......anyone know where I can get a new one? Anyone have any experience fitting one?

The first call must always be your local OPC. In many cases it will be cheaper than from a breaker: and itll be new too...

Available? Usually. In stock: possibly.....

For the moment yes, as it's always recommended call Exeter Porsche Centre first, any Porsche Centre second, toss up between breakers and after-market suppliers third and waste your money on E-bay as a last resort. [8|]

There is some talk of Porsche not continuing to supply parts for older cars, including ours. This is exactly why we Club together, I hope that the trend towards informal internet groups won't have lost us the collective bargaining power we used to enjoy.

if you are struggling to find one let me know, I know someone in Roundhay, Leeds near you who breaks 944s and he might have one. Send me an e-mail.

Bonnet release handle is made up of 2 separate parts - a lever and the plastic housing. The housing 928.511.173.02 70B was £1.60 + VAT from Exeter OPC last Oct.

...AND ITS COMMONLY OFFERED ON EbAY BY SKANKERS FOR BETWEEN £5 AND £15 PLUS EXCESSIVE POSTAGE...

The housing with the 928 part number where the handle pivots from is a discontinued part as least that's what i was to when i tried to order one from exeter !!

These housings are an absolute pain. Over the course of owning three 944s I've had to buy five of them!

I have to wonder whether there's an opportunity for manufacturing and selling a machined aluminium replacement, or something similar.

Yes mine went on me too when I first got my S2 last year, now I just remember to be a little more gentle and not yank the release too much.
