Bonnet stone chips! Where, how and best action to remove them

Hi All,

Sitting in a hotel room in Singapore and waiting to get home to my lovely car.
The bonnet is fairly stone chipped due to the angle to the road and Im keen to have the chips removed and apply a self healing film to stop this in the future. How much does a bonnet respray and bumper chip removal cost? I am in Bromley and really want to sort this out as the car is lovely except for a couple of marks here and there around the car but the bonnet annoys me. Any recommendations and any idea of cost. The car is metallic black.
Thanks
Dom

Unfortunately black met is one of the worst colours to show up scratches, chips and gravel rash. It's likely work will be needed to the tops of both wings too! You'll need to budget for between £2-£3K, possibly more if your PC-recommended repairer does the work.

The film may be a savvier for minor skirmishes, but doubles the cost for more acute rectification work.
Regards,
Clive

Having just been through this earlier in the year, due to the condition of my car being mis-described by an OPC, I've just had my whole front end resprayed. Things to consider..... In my experience, was that the OPC agreed to have my bonnet resprayed by a more local OPC. When my local OPC assessed the damage is was clear the bonnet needed fully respraying, however to ensure the right finish, colour match, Porsche warranty, the approved repairer M&A Coachworks stated that the bonnet, front bumper and each wing had to be painted. This cost to another OPC was just under £3k inc VAT, all of which was met by the original selling OPC after much heated discussion. I have to say the finish is immaculate and to that end decided to fund myself an XPEL wrap on the full front end, wing mirrors and doors, this cost me a further £1100 ish from memory.

I can't recommend this enough, already despite driving with care, I can see some of the impact the film has taken and saved me another paint job. If installed well, you can't tell the film is there and does make it look really well. I definitely wasn't keen on paying out such sums, surprised people can get paint jobs for £300 by comparison. I suppose apples with apples springs to mind, but I still thought mine was pricey, but just wanted it doing properly as I had purchased an approved used car and wasn't footing the bill.
