having grief with my bonnet now in that having looked at the catch (bit on the car not the bonnet) the half moon bit of metal doesnt return after releasing it to lock the pin of the bonnet down, i have to crawl under the car and slide it across with my finger. its like a spring has gone awry or something tried looking for the catches online and fleabay but no luck so anyone had this snag before and know of a fix?

Thats a nice looking motor

Answer - drill out the four rivets carefully and replace with a replacement used one from a porsche parts dealer

haha thanks elliot hows the 911 working out for you? still loving the 944 quite like just tinkering with it

Bonnet catches get very cruddy very quickly. Well worth cleaning it before taking it out.

A good rub with some paraffin and an old paintbrush. And then some light oil. May well solve your problem.

Oli.

yeah it doesnt seem too mucky its just there doesnt seem to be anything to make that bit of metal return back, is it meant to have a spring?
