book value - VIN or registration date

I have a 997.2 C4S.
The chassis (VIN) number identifies it as 2009 year of manufacture but it was 1st registered on 5 November 2008.

For purposes of P/X and "book" valuation, should I look at 2008 or 2009 figures ?

Thanks for your guidance.

Registration date.

Model year starts in September eg. next month cars will be 2011 model year.

Regards,

Clive

Interesting. I have a similar situation but the other way around. My car was manufactured in 2007 but first registered in 2008. It was sold to me by an OPC as a 2008 car and I was concerned when I discovered the build date was 2007 as I thought it could be worth less. Subsequently I did some research with OPCs and Indies but it seems to be that the first registered date is the one that they all use for valuation purposes.
