Boot leak...cause found!

Finally I've found the cause of the water leak into the boot on my car (and possibly avoided some very expensive repairs if this had been left un-checked). Water was collecting round the bottom side of the petrol tank on the off side (and who knows where else possibly?).

The cause is the off side bonnet windscreen washer nozzle, which gets wet on the inside of the bonnet every time it rains. It seems quite loose where it locates into the bonnet.

I'm going to seal both nozzles up with silicone sealer when it's dry again unless anyone knows if there should be a rubber/fibre gasket there? Can't see one in the parts catalogue....

Looks like there's no seal/washer etc according to local OPC. Both nozzles quite wobbly. Oh well, out with a dab of well-hidden clear silicone sealer then to avoid a hole in the boot floor eventually!

Further update!

Reason for magical pool of water behind front bulkhead as well, on nearside found...water runs from poorly-seated nearside washer jet (when it rains), down inside of double skin of bonnet out of sight and then out at the bottom, onto carpet and away out of sight again, to pool above/around your battery or on front cross member/bulkhead.

Hope this saves someone a big bill one day. Check under your carpets after rain or washing car, because warm weather dries much of it up quite quickly.
