Boot lid and spoiler needed desperately - Support your racers !

Hi,

After my trip into the barrier at Castle Combe the other week I'm trying to get my race car looking a little less battered for the Silverstone meeting on the 1st and I could do with a standard boot lid and spoiler.

Does anyone have one sat in their garage and would be willing to sell it please?

A guards red one would be perfect but any colour would be fantastic.

Cheers
Richard

Hi Ian

I was bidding on a bumper, with an hour to go it was £12.50, a bargain, but then bidding when crazy and it went for nearly £200.

I tried Douglas Valley but their prices are ridiculous, £500 for a bumper and £400 for a spoiler. Those guys need to get real !

Unfortunately ebay is getting worse for pricing these days. Seems to be lots of people who think of themselves as traders and set their own prices without doing any market research e.g. the bloke that is listing a battery earth strap with a start price of £19......they're £7.50 + VAT from Porsche! I agree ..but he's making money and people buy from him...who is the mug ..him or the buyer ;-).

There are still bargains out there and one way is to search off ebay by "world"

Hi all,

Just as an update, I've just bought a GRP bumper, bonnet, boot lid and and a spoiler mechanism. I figured that I needed to lose some weight off the car so this is a perfect opportunity.

Not cheap but still cheaper than Porsche bits.

Thank you for taking an interest and thanks Kev for passing on the details on that rear spoiler.

Richard,

Only just saw you request and it looks as if you are sorted, but in case painting is an issue or you want a spare, I have a perfect guards red engine cover without the spoiler that I no longer require.

It only cost me £50.00, yours for the same if you're interested

Bob.

Hi Richard,

Sorry, yes it's a 964 one with the spoiler removed.

I bought it thinking I could fit a whaletail to it for my 964 rather than break up my original engine cover and spoiler, but the aperture is bigger than on the pre '89 cars, hence I no longer need it.

Bob.

Hi Bob,
If Richard (RLambert) doesn't want it I will buy it. I've been looking for one to replace mine for a long time.

PM also sent.

Many thanks,
Rich

You don't need a new lid just to get rid of that bit of graffiti that some swine put on it [;)]

I do if it's ever going to get on a track. [;)]

Hi,

I'm just waiting for the FG lid to arrive and I'll check if it's up to the job. If not I'll take up you offer Bob.

I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Cheers

Hi,

Received my FG items yesterday and the boot lid isn't going to work as its a 3.2 type so the hole isn't big enough.

I'll take yours Bob please. Will send you a PM.

Cheers
