Hi All,

I started abit of work on my 944 turbo today and the thought my first place would be to sort out trying to open the boot.

After a few hours of WD40 and cleaning the latches, I got it open. to be honest, I'm going to replace the pin and latch to new parts but unsure which ones to order?

I've noticed in USA, they sell stainless but I can't find a UK supplier. Also where would you recommend get a brand new latch?

Cheers in advance.

Pins you can get from Porsche or on e-bay etc.Latches you get from Porsche. Or you can re-build them. I drilled out the spot welds with a pillar drill then cleaned and re-greased everything. Sorted. Then I fitted the small plastic seats from Only 944.com. works like new

Drill out the weld like this and open them up

grease everything put all back together then a spot of weld and it's like new.

Then use these http://only944.com/partscatalog/only/hatchpinseats/

Job done at a cost of less than £30 for the pair.

In truth the process of bolting them back into the car will hold it together. I just put a fan of weld on each side.
