I know this video is of a 924, but it made me think.

At the 2.16 ish point the boot is popped and rises on its own, if i bought new dampers would this happen on my car, just on design 911 website it says the dampers are to support the boot lid from dropping, not to raise it. Cheers all.
 
I don't know why you found that video ? , but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it

With new, good quality struts and a new, springy, hatch seal it'll pop up. Not for long, though, as the struts do lose their strength. My bonnet struts lasted about a year before I needed the broom handle again.

The way to get the boot to fly up is new struts and delete the wiper, saving a few kilos.
