Bose Audio Pilot

I have a gen 1 997 C4S with Bose however the "audio pilot" function doesnt seem to work very well - I constantly find myself adjusting the volume which is a pain as I dont have a multi-function steering wheel (how much would it cost to retro-fit one of these by the way?). My car is booked in for an inspection tomorrow at the Tonbridge OPC. Is there any easy way to tell if the audio pilot is working? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Multi fuinction wheel can only be fitted if you have the PCM installed. Its possible to retro fit for a lot less than 1000 pounds if you can find a used wheel or buttons from e bay. The wheel must be a triangular airbag type so if you have the sport round airbag wheel you need to factor this in too. I retro fitted the MF wheel on my 987 boxster ( identical to the 997 ) , the whole task including OPC recoding was about 300. If you go to an independent you can ge tthe recoding done for a lot less than 150 odd which OPC charge.

That was a bargain Berty. The price I quoted was from a dealer as then the warranty would still apply. Anyone know if during the warranty check they run through the list of options fitted and to see if it vary's to what is on the car?
