I have a 987 S in which I have a Bose sound system

I have sent it back once, convinced that it wasn't working properly, to be told it was all ok. However, the sound is inconsistent and fades in and out. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm wondering whether to opt for this next time - any recommendations?
