I never though I would say this but today I bought a new Fiat instead of a Boxster.[]

However, let me finish, it's one of the go fastish Abarth 500C's and to be honest it's an absolute hoot to drive. Quite like driving an angry terrier that just eaten a wasp. Don't get me wrong the 981 is a fantastic car but when all things were considered spending £45+K on a daily hack didn't stack up for us at the moment.
The good news is I now get to keep the 996 now.[:)]

Sounds ok to me.... A fast fiat for everyday use and a 996 to play in. It's not the worst combo in the world !!

The abarth is really for my wife but I have the feeling that I'll be sneaking out with it instead of the discovery at every given moment. I'm just hoping that the electrics and body work will turn out to be better than fiats of old

I had one as a hire car recently and absolutely loved it. I would be happy to drive around in one. It turned every journey into a little adventure and was a complete hoot to drive. You can trow it around and rev the nuts of it without breaking the law.Driving it hard down a b road was sooo much fun.

The owner of the hotel we stayed in was Italian and refereed to it as a "bambino Ferrari " I think he was spot on.
