Boxster 0-60 times

Hi folks

I timed my Boxster's 0-60 recently using a Bluetooth OBD dongle and smartphone software and got a time of 4.72 seconds. Porsche quote 5.2 but I know they're usually quite conservative with their figures.

Nice to know the machine can nail a time like that. It's a 2011 3.4S with PDK, half a tank of fuel, no passenger, and using the launch control feature.

Anyone else timed theirs?

I know it's not all about figures but nonetheless it's interesting to me. :)

Ulysse Speedometer for Android devices had similar. 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile timings - among a host of of other functions - and it's free if you don't mind the ads at the bottom!

Yes there are plenty of options on both Windows Phone and google's phones as well, but sadly iPhone doesn't support serial connections over Bluetooth (so I am told) so it's not an option for Apple users.

I thought the porsche web site did say 4.7 with all the toys turned on anyway.

Never feels that quick but I suppose over the years and having had so many P cars you take it for granted :)

To think the Boxster s matches the performance of most of the last generation 911's I had, times have moved on.

they quote times 2 up and full fuel you should be able to do 4.5/4.6 1 up with launch and sports plus with PDK.

My adrenalin maker is conciderabley less than a quarter of the capacity of your Boxster but still manages 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. By the way it does the 'standing quarter' in 11.2 seconds.

11.2 is a bit slow when you can buy a beetle which can do sub 10's :)

Buy one? Do you mean go to your local dealer and buy it.. I suppose it's road legal as well[:D]

Well a Turbo S can do it in less than 11 and you can buy one of those at the dealer and it is certainly road legal[;)] Might cost a bit more than the bike though.....[:(]
