Boxster 2.5 clutch - slip ?

When driving the car hard, the clutch can slip noticeably when changing up. It's not that bad, but I'm sure this can't be right ? - the biting point is rather high on the pedal travel too.

Its a '97 2.5 LHD 37000 miles, I only just bought it and of course I didn't thrash it too hard on the test drive.

So I'm wondering what the £ bill's going to be for a new clutch, unless it is simply a case of adjustment ?

If anyone has recently had a boxster clutch replaced and is kind enough to let me know what they payed for a clutch replacement job, I'd be grateful for the assistance in benchmarking prices before i start looking into the matter.

I'm also keen to establish whether or not an OPD is essential for this kind of job?

Appart from the clutch, it's an awsome drive and i can't believe i was stupid enough to own a Lotus Elise for over a year previously!!! Doh!

£455 is their price for a clutch replacement using genuine parts.

The OPC (not OPD! - although sometimes called DRB) will extract a lung and a kidney for a clutch replacement = £1200. The parts themselves should be around £300ish and a good independent would charge around £500 for the complete job (inc parts). There is no good reason to get this done at an OPC as you won't get a stamp in any log book.
