Hi all i have this phone in the car, i get a signal, i have put a sim in but can't make calls
can anyone help? Thanks .......... see pic below

PCM1 uses the old 900MHz network. Last time I heard there were only a couple of operators who use that band now - O2 and Vodaphone.

If it is a SIM from another provider it might not be compatible. Try an O2 pay-and-go, to see if it works then.

Edit: Actually, it looks like you don't have a signal - no strength bars showing, and a line through the phone symbol.
 
My 981 has a sim slot but there isn't a built-in mobile phone (at least not one that's enabled) so you can put a sim card in but nothing happens. Do you know if anyone has ever been able to make phone calls from the car? I notice you say you get a signal - if so, it's not the above problem.
 
Hi thanks for your help i managed to get it working well kind of,i stuck a vodaphone sim in an it works, but unfortunately i can't get the CD or Radio working so have no sound, the phone rings and receives texts but i can't hear it ring, so i must have an amp problem and a audio issue oh well on to the next thread!
