Hi all,

Please can someone help . A relative of mine is contemplating purchasing a 718 spyder and is concerned about clearance on his driveway with the splitter . His driveway is approximately 7 degrees and he wondered if someone would measure the clearance on the front splitter and distance from the front of the splitter to the centre of the front wheels on their car so that he can work out if the car would foul the driveway.
I know this is a strange request but due parking where he lives , he would like to park the car in his garage and this would mean diving down a 7 degree drive and into the garage.
Many thanks,

Think you might get away with this!

The ground clearance for Spyder 718 is given as 128mm. It is a while since i have done this type of math, but i calculate that by the time you drive half way down a 7 degree slope, the front wheels will be 151mm lower than the back wheels. I think this means that half way between the wheelbase it will have dropped approx 75mm.
So approx 53mm clearance or 2 inches in old money at the halfway point. - Don’t know about splitters?

I would get a check on this, but i hope it helps

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your reply . I don’t think he has any clearance heights for the Spyder so this will be very useful to him . I can not find anything on line to show measurements of the car .
Thank you Andrew . Maybe an option he could use .
