Boxster / 911 residuals?

Just got back from my local JCT/Porsche dealer. I told him I have £30k and want a porsche. I asked him what model would cost me the least over an 18 month period, averaging around 10,000 miles. His recommendation was a car they had just sold. An 03 plate, Black, Boxster 3.2S, 1 previous owner, 11k miles, upgraded wheels. Sold for £30k.

Put down £3k, and take 2.7% from us. (I did'nt realise Porcshe/JCT offered such low APRs). Reckoned that model/spce, for someone worried about residuals at the moment is untouchable.

I have sat down and done my sums and with my £27k invested elswhere, this car wont cost me a thing?!?

Hhhmmm, sounds to good to be true....

Hi there

I have just enquired at the OPC what the trade in value is for my Boxster that I bought from them December 2004 that they had advertised for 39K (I didn't pay that much) current trade in value is 24K.

This is what Porsche Approved car locator brings up for around the £30K mark:-

2.7% seems very very low presumably that is a flat rate (approx 5.4%APR if I've got it correct). I have heard they work the payments out using residuals which they do not guarantee so you are taking the risk at the end - and OPC's do not seem to be very geberous with their trade in prices
