Boxster 981 Exhaust!

I've just had a sports exhaust fitted (by OPC Cambridge) to my 981 Boxster (well awesome) and the parts that have come off I'm going to put them on eBay!

My question is does the same system fit a 981 Cayman?

Hi, Sounds like the sports exhaust makes a big difference and you are pleased with your purchase.
Don't know if it will fit the Cayman but not sure there will be a market for a 981 exhaust system just yet as the model has not been round long enough for exhausts systems to require replacing?

is your ride an S or standard? How much difference did the PSE make? I was considering same thing on my 981 PDK but standard exhaust sounds pretty good on standard model so I was worried it wouldn't be worth while.

Hi. I have a standard 2.7 Boxster. I did think I was mad spending +£2K on a sports exhaust. But it's worth every penny!!

The sound is very noticeably different. I've not had the iPod on since!!

If you're in a position to do it...don't hesitate.

So which parts of the exhaust system do they change, Is it just the back box or do they replace the whole lot, I note that there are two different prices depending if you already have the twin sports tailpipes or not so assume if you have the twin pipes this bit does not get replaced?
I think it nearly 2K without fitting and labour, so knowing OPC labour costs are very high what's the total bill come to?

They change the two rear back box's and the twin pipes as a complete job and added the button next to the PDK shift. In my case I'd already got the twin pipes as the Boxster 'option' upgrade, but they were changed so I assume there are some differences.

£2300 total.

I've put the system on eBay including the twin pipes that came off the car. I assume anyone with a 981 Boxster who has the square tail pipe can replace it with just the twin pipes?

Glad to hear (pun intended) that the retrofit is worth it, my 981 S goes in for it's first service in April and is getting the PSE fitted at the same time. Been quoted £1797 inc VAT for parts and installation. Like you I also already have the sports tailpipes fitted. Looking forward to the car getting it's voice. Enjoy. Also was wondering what to do with the bits left over, but don't really see much of a market for some time if ever.

Forget the rest and drive the best Porsche with PSE of course [8D]

I've had the sports exhaust fitted on the car for a couple of weeks now...and I must say it's awesome!!! The ipod hasn't been on loud ever since!!

My fuel consumption has increased, however this is due to me changing down in tunnels and enjoying the sound! Get the roof down and it's even better!!!

I sold my twin pipes that came off the car on eBay...the gentleman only wanted the pipes and not the cats, they they are still in the garage!!

Hi I have a 2.7 boxster came with a sports exhaust found it caused droning at 50 to 60 so changed it of a standard much quiter now but still sounds good at 5 to 6000 rpm
